It's a brand new year

Our very first meeting of 2017 concluded earlier this evening. We are pleased to announce a number of ideas for the year, revolving around pipelines and climate change. You can expect news soon on this.

All these new projects [line 9/9b, line 3, line 10, and others] are expansive projects that seek to extract bitumen quickly, and sell it just as fast. In November of 2016, we learned about the approval of the twinning of the Kinder Morgan pipeline in British Columbia (near tripling capacity of the current flow). We were devastated but blatantly, not surprised. It wasn't a shock to many of us that the Federal Government of Canada approved the Texas company's pipeline project. Let's get real. Kinder Morgan is an export pipeline. Lines 9/9b, 10 and 3 in Ontario alone are all export pipelines. You are right to think that we will stand in solidarity, and also fight the local pipelines in Ontario. If they want to accelerate the extraction of bitumen, increase global temperatures, and potentially increase the frequency of extreme weather events, all in the name of the almighty dollar?

​We have heard from dozens of voices, who are all coming together, telling us, we have to change, and we have to protect the earth. Why not listen to them? What have you got to lose? Imagine just in the slightest chance that our world isn't facing catastrophe, you get to live.
